Herald advised the Popy Group with the acquisition of Gilbert Lemelle 

PARIS, January, 16th – Herald advised Popy (sausage manufacturer) with the acquisition of Gilbert Lemelle. The company thus consolidates its leading position in the andouille and andouillette market.

With 13 brands (Popy, Bernaudeau, La Champenoise, Chedeville, Duval, Amand Terroir, Amand Traiteur, Rivalain, Paul Danjou, Jannaire, Gilbert Lemelle, Charles Keller et Père Isidore) and 10 production sites, the new Group has an income of more than 90 M€.

The two companies are perfectly complementary.

Geographically very strong in the East and Paris region The Gilbert Lemelle Group completes the Popy Group’s presence in the west and center of France.

The Popy Group, owned and managed by Laurent Jolivet, has specialised since its creation in 2000 in the supply of andouilles and andouillettes. It has extended to all delicatessen products, and seafood delicatessen products (terrines, salads and stuffed fish), mainly to professional channels (wholesalers, cash & carry, restaurants and hotels). Since the takeover of the Amand-Bianic Group in June 2017, the activity has been spread over 7 sites (Saint-Quentin-Fallavier – 38, Montreuil Bellay – 49, Jully-sur-Sarce – 10, Courcouronnes – 91, Vire – 14, Morlaix – 29, Beignon – 56) and employs 380 people.
